Human Centered Design
The goal of this project is to make the Amsterdam Central Station feel less crowded and create a feeling of more space by using design principles not only driven by commercial needs, but creating positive impact for all user groups.
EMPHATHIZE
Behavioral interviews were conducted within 3 different users groups to reveal the pain points that translated from the interviewees' frustrations, barriers and fears.
"As designers, we aim to design for people – and to make their everyday lives better."

DEFINE
The interviews revealed the pain points that translated from the interviewees' frustrations, barriers and fears. In this stage the personas were created.

IDEATE
"How might we..." questions were formulated to tackle the most important pain points to come up with possible solutions.
PROTOTYPE & TEST
While creating a prototype, special attention was placed on how to create real, practical solutions through the lens of innovative and responsible design for extrem users, people who suffer from anxiety.

The final prototype was to invent a “Central Hall Sense Park”, including the three senses of sounds, smells, visuals in order to create a more calming atmosphere that would reduce the feeling of overcrowding.
